Elizabeth McQueen Todd was born in 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of Mathew Todd and Mary Cochrane.

When Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition she was living at Shag Point working as an assistant to Mrs Randle. (See 89 M R Randle)

She married William Edward Rixon, an engine driver, on 7 June 1894 in the Palmerston parish.

They had four sons and after they left Shag Point the family also lived in Seddonville and Dunedin.

Elizabeth died at her sister’s home in Carterton on 25 January 1916, she is buried in the Clareville Cemetery, Carterton.

William re-married in 1919, he died in 1843 and is buried with his second wife in the Andersons Bay Cemetery, Dunedin.
