Elizabeth Dick was born about 1847 in Ayrshire, Scotland.

She emigrated to New Zealand and she married Charles Wright, a labourer, on 27 January 1873 at her uncle’s home at Ouseburn near Waihola.

They lived in Milton where Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition.

They had no children of their own but had an adopted daughter, May, who died in 1890 aged 14.

Charles died at their home in 1913 and Elizabeth died on 19 December 1932, they are buried in the Fairfax Cemetery, Milton.
