Elspeth/Elsie Mary Stuart Pattillo was born in 1863 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Pattillo, a cabinet maker, & Margaret Bremner.
She married Charles Allen, a butcher, on July 14th 1887 at her parents’ home in Dunedin & they had 2 sons.
When Elsie signed the suffrage petition the family were living in North East Valley, Dunedin.
She died at her home on August 26th 1922.
Charles remarried in 1929 to Alice Watts.
He died in 1932 & is buried with Elsie in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
