Fanny was born in 1854 in Kent England and as a single girl emigrated directly to Picton arriving on 10 January 1875 on the Carnatic, the only sailing ship to arrive directly to Picton from the UK.
Fanny subsequently married Stephen TAPP on 6 November 1878 in Blenheim whose family was also on the Carnatic. Stephen was in the wool trade. Fanny died on 5 July 1916 and is buried in the Omaka cemetery in Blenheim.
