Florence Lucy Boot was born in 1871 in New Zealand – the daughter of Alfred Boot, a surgeon dentist, and Kate Joan MacGoun.
When Florence signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Royal Terrace, Dunedin.
She married George William Gibson, a seed merchant, on March 1st 1900 at the Baptist Church, Hanover St, Dunedin – they had 2 daughters.
Florence died at her home on June 10th 1938 and George died in 1958. They are buried together in the Northern Cemetery.
