Florence Fanny Browne was born in 1868 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Ferris Browne, a draughtsman, and Johanna Heenan.
When she signed the suffrage petition Florence was living in George St, Dunedin, at her family home working as a dressmaker. Her sister Caroline also signed the petition.
Florence did not marry, she died on 14 March 1940. She is buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
