Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Grace Brook was born about 1855 in Australia, she came to New Zealand and, in 1878, married Dusenius Frühstüch from Denmark.

They had a daughter, Violet Ethel in 1879. Dusenius worked as a gardener and they lived in Kaikorai then later in Melbourne St, Brunswick St and Reid Rd in South Dunedin. Dusenius worked for many years as a gardener for T K Sidey – MP and Mayor of Caversham. He suffered from lung trouble and while going to Middlemarch for his health was thrown from the buggy, a wheel running over him.

He died in 1911, Grace died on 4 August 1939. They are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
