Helen Stewart Fulton, nee Bett.

Born 1st October 1861, daughter of Robert Bett and Mary Bett nee Burnett. Robert had a blacksmith and carriage factory and died aged 44 in 1873, leaving Mary with 8 girls and a boy. Prior to his death she had established "Gladstone House" a boarding house for young gentlemen.

William Wright Fulton was one of the lodgers and he married Helen 1 June 1880.

Together they went on to have 4 sons.

Helen died 2 Sept 1937 and is buried in the Old Cemetery at Morrinsville.

In an obituary in the Matamata Record, it mentions that
"Mrs. Fulton had a host of friends. She was kindliness personified, and, as one who knew her well said yesterday, hers was a life of “ real practical Christianity.” .... She was a very devoted worker for the P.W.M.U. and the Ladies’ Guild. When the Morrinsville Women’s Institute was formed Mrs. Fulton entered into its activities with characteristic energy, and there was no more popular member."
