Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley.

Isabella Patrick was born about 1837 in Renfrewshire, Scotland.

She married Robert Williamson, an ironstone miner, on 23 June 1854 and they had five children before the family emigrated to Otago in 1864 on the Resolute.

They settled in Dunedin where they had a further nine children, two who died in infancy and where Robert worked as an expressman.

When Isabella signed the suffrage petition the family were living in John St, Roslyn.

Robert died at their home in 1901 and Isabella died on 10 November 1924 – they are buried together in the Northern Cemetery.
