Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Isabella Mylroi/Mylrea was born in the Isle of Man about 1838, and she arrived in New Zealand about 1862.

Isabella married Peter John Calder, a baker, in Clyde, Central Otago in 1865. They had seven children, although two died in infancy. Their daughter, Jessie, also signed sheet 90 of the petition.

The family lived in the Alexandra district before they moved to Dunedin in about 1874. They moved to Walker St around 1884 and that is where Isabella died on 10 August 1914. Peter died in 1922 and they are buried in a family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
