Jane/Jean Smith Raeburn was born in 1865 in New Zealand – the daughter of James Raeburn and Helen.
When Jane signed the suffrage petition she was living at the City Mission in Albany St, Dunedin – her occupation was given as City Missionary.
She married William Cross Hopkins, a manufacturing chemist, in 1896 and they had four children.
William died at their home in Dunedin in 1935 and Jane died on 18 May 1943, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
