Johanna Thompson was born in 1865 in Invercargill – the daughter of Thomas Johnson Thompson, a shipwright and mariner, and Christiana Gotze. (See 341 C Thompson)

She married Henry John Webb, an engine driver, in 1884 and they had four children.

When Johanna signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Bowmont St, Invercargill.

Henry died in 1915 and Johanna died on 4 August 1960 in Invercargill, they are buried in the family grave in the Invercargill Eastern Cemetery.
