Biographical information provided by Briar Barry for the He Tohu exhibition:
Jane arrived in New Zealand from England aboard the Wellington in 1874, along with her husband, George, and their young son. They immediately moved to Feilding where they had four more children. George was on the local borough council and was highly regarded for his kindly nature and industrious work habits. Jane died on 4 November 1921, aged 81, and is buried in Feilding Cemetery.
