Jessie McNaughton was born about 1845.

She came to New Zealand where she married clerk Thomas Riddell Dodds on 12 June 1868 in Dunedin.

They had no children and when Jessie signed the suffrage petition they were living on the corner of Helena St and Macandrew Rd in South Dunedin.

Thomas died at their home in 1906 – he is buried in the Southern Cemetery.

Jessie died in June 1910 at her sister’s home in Lawrence – she is buried in the Lawrence Cemetery.
