Jessie Mitchell Wylie was born in 1871 in South Otago – the daughter of John Liddell Wylie, a carpenter, and Janet Mitchell. (See 128 Janet Wylie)

When she signed the suffrage petition Jessie was living with her family at 'Comely Bank' in Port Molyneux.

She married John Charles Scott, a farmer, on 19 October 1899 at her home.

They had three children and after a few years in Port Molyneux they moved to Coromandel where John worked as a storeman.

John died in 1932, he is buried in the Buffalo, Coromandel Cemetery.

Jessie died on 10 September 1951 in Taumarunui, she is buried in the New Taumarunui Cemetery.
