Jessie Macaulay Naumann was born in 1873 in New Zealand – the daughter of Frederick Gustave Henry Lewis Naumann and Annabella Macaulay. (See 32 Mrs Naumann)
When she signed the suffrage petition Jessie was living with her family in Gordon St, Dunedin.
She married Thomas Patrick McKelvey, a coach trimmer, in 1896 and they had four children.
The family lived in Invercargill where Thomas died in 1930, he is buried in the St John’s Cemetery, Invercargill.
Jessie later moved back to Dunedin where she died on 16 October 1951, she was cremated and her ashes scattered.
