Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Justina Hundy was born about 1832 in Kelso, Roxburghshire, Scotland, she married John Anderson on 9 January 1854 in Dumfries.

They had a daughter in Alnwick, Northumberland, England in 1854 followed by another daughter back in Dumfries in 1856.

John died that year and, in 1857, Justina married James Corbett, a gilder.

Justina and James had nine children, five who died in infancy.

In 1874 the family boarded the Cartsburn bound for Otago. They appear to have had one more son after their arrival in New Zealand.

When Justina signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Castle St, Dunedin.

James died in 1900 at his home and Justina died on 24 October 1904, they are buried in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
