Lydia Mary Booker was born in New Zealand in 1866 – the daughter of William Booker and Mary Swindell.

She lived in Maitland St, Dunedin with her parents and did not marry. Her sister, Catherine, also signed the petition.

Lydia died on 9 March 1911, aged 45. She is buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
