Mary Ann Savage was born about 1866, she married Alfred George Baker, an engineer, in New Zealand in 1886.
They had seven children, which included twins, one who died in infancy.
When Mary signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Forth St, Dunedin.
James died in 1913 and Mary died on 11 September 1943, they are buried with their infant son in the Northern Cemetery.
