Agnes Maude Boyd was born in 1870 in New Zealand – the daughter of John Boyd, a carter, and Agnes Allan. (See 100 Agnes Boyd)

When Agnes signed the suffrage petition she was living with her sister Margaret (See 98 Margaret Adams) in Cumberland St, Dunedin working as a saleswoman.

Agnes married John Sherlock Deaker, a school teacher, on 31 August 1898 in the St Andrew’s Parish Balclutha.

They had five children and lived in Balclutha then Dunedin where Agnes died on 24 June 1947.

John died in 1947 and they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
