Mary Jane Hunter was born in 1866 in New Zealand – the daughter of Alexander Hunter and Mary Sim.
In 1893 Mary was living with her family in Great King St, Dunedin.
She married John Carter in 1895 and they had at least four children.
About ten years after their marriage they moved to the North Island. Their date and place of death is unknown.
