Margaret Ann Bagnall was born in 1859 in Prince Edward Island, Canada and with her family immigrated to New Zealand in 1864.
Margaret’s mother Martha Bagnall and sister-in-law Jessy Bagnall also signed sheet 390.
The 1896 and 1900 Ohinemuri electoral roll records Margaret Bagnall as living in Turua and domestic duties as her occupation, from 1905 she lived in Shelly Beach Road, then Tweed Street in Auckland and her occupation was listed as spinster in subsequent electoral rolls.
In March 1924, her return to Canada to visit relatives was reported in the Social News section of the New Zealand Herald, as was her 81st birthday in July 1939.
In her seventies Margaret wrote a twelve-page memoir, which has been reproduced in The Bagnalls of Turua, 1864-1984 by Dorothy C Bagnall.
Margaret died on 5 April 1946; she was 87-years-old and is buried at Waikaraka Cemetery, Auckland.
