Margaret Trainer was born about 1846 in Glasgow, Scotland. On 6 October 1865 in Anderston, Glasgow she married Gilbert Logie, a lead pipe maker.

Jane McCredie Logie was their first child, she was born on 18 October 1865 in Glasgow. Three further children were born in Glasgow.

In 1875 and  Jane, with three of their children arrived in Otago on the Oamaru. A further five children were born after their arrival.

In 1894 Jane McCredie Logie married Peter Weatherston, a tinsmith.

Margaret Logie’s moment of fame came when she was a witness in court, in 1907, to an assault of a neighbour by her son.

In 1914 Gilbert Logie died at 29 Brunswick St.  Margaret died on 20 April 1921. They are buried together in the Southern Cemetery.

Peter Weatherston died in 1939 at Green Island and Jane died on 29 September1942, they are both buried in the Green Island Cemetery.
