Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Margaret Sim McEwan was born about 1864, she married Frederick Alexander Wurm, a sawyer, on 31 December 1885 in Dunedin.

They had three children and when Margaret signed the suffrage petition she gave her address as Clarendon St, Dunedin.

The family moved to Temuka in the 1900s and, in 1915, Frederick died as the result of an accident at a sawmill.

Margaret died on 2 February 1933 when she was 'knocked down and run over by a lorry driven by her brother-in-law.'

She is buried with Frederick in the Temuka Cemetery.
