Mary was born about 1848.
She and her husband John had four children, at least two of these children were born in New Zealand.
They lived, at first, in Christchurch before moving to Dunedin in 1889.
When Jane signed the suffrage petition she was living in Forth Street where she was still living at the time of her daughter’s marriage in 1906.
John has disappeared from the records by this time.
Mary died on 27 December 1915 in Wellington – she is buried with her eldest son in the Karori Cemetery.
