Mary Jane Dippie was born in New Zealand in 1863 – the daughter of Alexander Dippie, a carpenter, and Jane Ross. (See 56 Mrs Dippie)
When she signed the suffrage petition Mary was living with her family in George St, Dunedin.
She married Alexander Campbell, a stock agent, on 22 August 1894 at her parents’ house.
They had a daughter in July 1897 and Mary died on 24 August the same year. Her daughter died at the age of 6 in 1903, she is buried with her mother in the family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
Alexander remarried in 1900 - he died in 1944 and is buried in the Milton Cemetery.
