Mary Jane Ferguson was born in 1869 in Milton, South Otago – the daughter of James Ferguson, a post office clerk, and Mary Buchanan Borrows. (See 167 Mary B Ferguson)
When Mary signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Moray Place, Dunedin where her father was working as chief clerk at the Post Office.
She married William Cameron Nimmo at her family home on 25 September 1906.
Mary and William lived in Melbourne, Australia where William died in 1922.
Mary died on 5 May 1935 and is buried with William in the Brighton General Cemetery in Caulfield South, Melbourne.
