Mary Easen was born about 1843.
She married Charles Rattray, a master mariner and widower, in 1881 in New Zealand.
Charles died in the Southland hospital in 1885 - in his will he left his estate to his son living in Arbroath, Scotland.
Mary lived in Bluff where she signed the suffrage petition – she died on 31 August 1931 and is buried in the Bluff Cemetery.
In her will she left her estate to her two 'granddaughters' – the daughters of Annie Fuller. (See 341 Annie Brazier-Creagh)
