Mary Fullerton Thomson was born in 1872 in New Zealand – the daughter of Alexander Thomson, a plumber, and Christina McAuslan. (See 64 Christina Thomson)

When she signed the suffrage petition Mary was living with her family in Andersons Bay Rd, Dunedin working as a dressmaker.

She married Arthur John Evans on 23 November 1898 in Dunedin and they had two children.

Arthur died in 1943 and Mary died on 27 November 1944, they are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
