Ann Dickie was born in 1870 in New Zealand – the daughter of Captain David Dickie and Ann. (See 49 A Dickie)
Her father died when she was three-years-old and when she signed the suffrage petition Ann was living with her mother and siblings in Elm Row, Dunedin working as a dressmaker.
Her mother died in November 1917 and, a month later, she married William John King, a contractor and widower.
Ann died on 17 November 1933 and William died in 1944, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
