RUSSELL Mrs. R. (Agnes wife of Robert Russell) - They are my Gt. grandparents. Please consider that when one looks closely at the original signature it is clearly signed MR. R. RUSSELL. (1) on close examination of Agnes' signature on a 1900 document it is markedly different. (2) When I examine Robert Russell's signature it is the same as on the petition. (3) Looking at other women who signed using MRS. in all my examinations I could see that there was always an 'S' attached to the MR (i.e. MRS.) I therefore have to conclude that the transcript may be incorrect. My Great grandfather is more likely to have signed the Women's suffrage petition - not my Great grandmother.
