Bridget Alice Keys was born about 1849. She married George Henry Barnes, a bailiff, on 21 June 1873 at George’s residence in Cumberland St, Dunedin.

Bridget and George had one daughter. When Alice signed the suffrage petition the family were living in London St, Dunedin. Her daugher, Alice Sophia Barnes, also signed the petition.

George died in 1910 and is buried in the Southern Cemetery, Dunedin.

Alice died on 10 December 1935 and is buried in the Andersons Bay Cemetery with her daughter.
