In 1858 Annie’s family emigrated to Otago on the Nourmahal and settled on the Otago Peninsula.

She married John Bishop, a farmer, in 1875 and they had eight children.

When Annie signed the suffrage petition they were living at Highcliff on the Peninsula where John died in 1921.

Annie died on 22 August 1935 in Dunedin, she is buried with John in the Southern Cemetery.
