Mary Ann Hamon was born in 1862 in New Zealand – the daughter of George Hamon, a carpenter, and Catherine Biggins. (See 67 Catherine Hamon)

Mary married David Caddie, a tinsmith, on 9 July 1880 in Dunedin and they had four children.

When Mary signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Jones St, South Dunedin.

David died in 1924 and Mary died on 7 October 1941, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
