Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Louisa Reeves was born about 1855. She married William Wilson, a seaman, in Brighton, Sussex in 1872.

They emigrated to Otago the same year on the Christian McAusland. Their first child was born on the voyage. They had a further two children before they appear to have parted around 1878. Louisa then lived with Charles Henry Cuttriss although they did not marry. Louisa and Charles had seven children together.

When she signed the suffrage petition Louisa was living in Maitland St, Dunedin, with her family while working as a laundress.

She died on 22 June 1946 and is buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
