Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Annie Kennedy was born about 1860. She married Robert Edward D’Oyly, a clerk, in New Zealand in 1882 and they had seven children.

When Annie signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Sydney St, Caversham.

They moved to Wellington about 1904 and lived in Clifton Tce where Robert died in 1910.

Annie died on 28 June 1929 when she was struck by a car.

She is buried with Robert in the Karori Cemetery.

Her obituary said 'she had a particularly charming personality, gentle and cultured, with the restful, delightful manners of a former of school of thought and teaching, and will be very much missed by a large circle of friends'.
