Margaret Pollock was born about 1850 in Stirling, Scotland. She married Charles Darlison in Victoria, Australia in 1869.
They arrived in Otago in August of 1869 on the Tararua from Melbourne.
They had nine children, Charles worked as a waggoner in Dunedin and the family lived in North East Valley. In 1893 he was mining at Brunnerton on the West Coast – Margaret and the children had shifted to Ellis St then to Leith St. When Margaret died on 1 November 1918 the family was in Howe St. Charles died in 1920 and is buried in the family grave with Margaret in the Northern Cemetery.
