Elizabeth Mair Watson was born about 1855 in Scotland, she emigrated to Otago in the 1870s and married Charles Deans, a stableman and widower with four children in 1880.
Together they had a further six children and when Elizabeth signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Cumberland St, Dunedin.
Charles died in 1918 and, in 1923, Elizabeth married John Gregson, a labourer.
John died in 1929 and Elizabeth died on 7 October 1935, they are buried with Charles Deans and his first wife in the Northern Cemetery.
