Mary Davey Rosewarne was born in 1819 in Gwinear, Cornwall – the daughter of Henry Rosewarne and Sarah Davey.
She emigrated to Victoria, Australia where she married Christopher Hollow in 1853.
They had four children, two who died in infancy, before they sailed for Otago in the mid 1870s.
Christopher died in 1885 and when Mary signed the suffrage petition she was living with her son and his family (See 45 Mrs J H F Hollow) in Hanover St, Dunedin.
Mary died on 2 February 1912 – she is buried with Christopher in the Southern Cemetery.
