Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley
Isabella Dunn was born about 1814. She married George Frederick Hopwood, a widower, in Victoria, Australia in 1853 and they had one daughter. (See 33 Mrs Grant)
The family sailed for Otago in 1862 on the City of Hobart and they settled on the Otago Peninsula where they had a market garden.
George died in 1889 and when Isabella signed the suffrage petition she was still living at Highcliff on the Otago Peninsula.
She died on 24 July 1900 at her home and is buried with George in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
