Agnes Hair was born about 1845 in Scotland.
She emigrated to Otago about 1863 and she married Donald McPherson, a blacksmith, on 23 March 1867 at the Andersons Bay Manse, Dunedin.
They had seven children, one who was stillborn, and when Agnes signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Park St, Kensington.
Donald died in 1911 and Agnes died on 1 December 1923 at her son’s home in Dunedin.
They are buried in the family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
