Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Margaret Helen Anderson was born about 1868 in New Zealand, she married John Pringle, a carter, in 1891.

They had five children & when Margaret signed the suffrage petition they were living in Melville Lane (off Great King St), Dunedin.

In 1924 Margaret applied for a prohibition order against John complaining that 'he was drunk every day but Sunday and was ruining his health'. The order was granted.

John died in 1944 and Margaret died on 16 September 1947, they are buried together in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
