Charlotte Tyrrell was born in 1865 in London, England – the daughter of Thomas Tyrrell, a baker, and Emma Lydia Thomas. (See 163 E L Tyrrell)
She emigrated to Otago on the Canterbury with her family in 1880 and they settled in Dunedin.
Charlotte married Albert Tiltman, a dealer, in 1891 – they had no children.
When Charlotte signed the suffrage petition they were living in Duncan St, North East Valley.
Albert died in 1920, he is buried in the Tiltman family grave in the Southern Cemetery.
Charlotte died on 11 May 1934 at the Dunedin Hospital, she was cremated and her ashes buried in the Tyrrell family grave in the Northern Cemetery.
