Catherine/Kitty Davidson was born about 1854 in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

She married William Gorman Morrison, a fruiterer, in Old Deer, Aberdeen in 1875.

They had four children before the family emigrated to New Zealand in the mid-1880s.

They settled in Oamaru before moving to Dunedin about six years later and had a further four children.

When Catherine signed the suffrage petition the family were living in Duncan St, North East Valley and William was working as a storeman.

Catherine died at their home on 18 February 1920 and William died in 1937, they are buried with one of their daughters in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
