Sarah Duval was born about 1861.

She married Andrew Armstrong, a labourer, in 1889 in New Zealand and they had three children.

When Sarah signed the suffrage petition the family were living in George St, Dunedin.

Sarah died on 21 November 1913 and Andrew died in 1921, they are buried in the family grave in the Andersons Bay Cemetery.
