Sarah Matilda Wright was born in 1865 in New Zealand – the daughter of William Wright, a farmer, and Matilda Andrews. (See 33 Mrs Wright)
Sarah married William Graham in 1893 and when she signed the suffrage petition they were living either with or near her family at Highcliff on the Otago Peninsula.
Sarah and William had two children before William died in the Dunedin Hospital in 1896.
Sarah died at her mother’s home, 'after a long and painfull illness', on 19 November 1897. She is buried with William and their son Thomas, who died in 1899, in the Northern Cemetery.
