Biography contributed by Katherine Blakeley

Sarah Ann Price was born about 1864, possibly in England.

She came to New Zealand and she had a son in 1889.

Sarah married William James Moody, a fish and oyster dealer, on 12 February 1890 in the Invercargill Parish and when she signed the suffrage petition they were living in Bluff.

William died in 1915, he is buried in the Bluff Cemetery.

In later years Sarah moved to Napier – she married William Henry Brocklehurst, a carpenter and divorcee with a son, in 1926.

William died in 1942 and Sarah died on 25 February 1956, she was cremated and her ashes buried with William Brocklehurst in the Waikumete Cemetery, Auckland.
