Sarah Ann Bremner was born in New Zealand in 1867 – the daughter of George Goddard Bremner, a carter, and Mary Ann Dick. (See 49 Mary Bremner)

When Sarah signed the suffrage petition she was living with her family in Grange St, Dunedin working as a tailoress.

She married Thomas Sanders, a coal merchant, on 20 November 1895 at the Trinity Wesleyan Church and they had three children.

Sarah died at her home in Maitland St, Dunedin on 19 January 1943 and Thomas died in 1945. They are buried together in the Southern Cemetery.
