Sarah Brooks was born about 1844 in London. She was possibly the Sarah who arrived in Otago in 1862 on the Star of Tasmania from London.

She married John William Tudor, a fishmonger, in 1863 and they had five children.

In 1878 John was filed for bankruptcy, he died in 1882 at his home in Kensington.

Sarah then married Luke Judd in 1885, he was the janitor of the Kensington School for many years.

He died at his home in 1916 and Sarah died at her daughter’s home on 13 August 1925.

They are buried with John Tudor in the Southern Cemetery.
