Susan McIntosh was born about 1832 in Cargill, Perthshire, Scotland – the daughter of John McIntosh and Helen Moncur.
Susan married William Moncur, an omnibus conductor, on 31 July 1858 in Edinburgh and they had six children, one who died in infancy.
The family emigrated to Otago in 1874 on the Auckland and they settled in Owaka where Susan signed the suffrage petition.
William died in 1902 in Owaka and Susan died on 15 November 1915 at her son’s home in Heriot, they are buried together in the Owaka Cemetery.
